“ It's one of the most legendary Kelapa Gading's culinary spot! Been my favourite since 15 years ago. Konro Bakar 9.5/10 You can't just get enough of it, the meat is grilled to perfection with a bomb peanut sauce, definitely a must try. Nasi Campur 7/10 Not the best but still good. Lack in flavours. Es Pisang Ijo 9/10 A dessert you must never missed. It has just enough amount of sweetness. ”
“ We heard about Rumah Makan Marannu many times through vloggers based outside of Indonesia, so when we happened to be in the area, my husband and I decided to check it out. This place is known to get crowded but since we arrived a little past lunchtime, we managed to get a table in the AC area without much waiting. I ordered the Konro Bakar, a grilled beef rib dish seasoned with spice rub coated in peanut sauce. My husband went for the Coto Makassar, a traditional Makassarese dish with beef and offal in a herb-infused broth. (Unfortunately, I didn't take a close up photo). One downside was the rice, it was a bit hard and dry, we would have preferred it to be softer and more tender (pulen), especially to pair well with the dishes. Since we were already quite full, we skipped dessert and ordered Es Pisang Ijo for later to enjoy at home. Overall, it was a flavorful introduction to South Sulawesi cuisine, and we’d be happy to return to try more dishes in the future. ”
“ Easily the most popular restoran in the area because the customers cars double parked the whole street and good luck finding a place to sit! Service a bit slow for taking orders or tables getting cleaned but food was served quite fast. We only tried the ribs and it was ok but the soup was very good though. Will return to try out the other goodies on the menu. ”
“ The red fried rice is tasty and generous w topping and it hs got charr taste. Good standard for asian fried rice. The soto makassar and sop konro is also tasty. V rich beef stock w right balance of spices used. No beefy smell is what i like. The nasi campur is lacking in its origin taste. It is simply rice rice w spiced boiled egg, beef floss, chilli beef slice and friedsweet potatoes. Not recommended. The es pisang ijo hs simply shaved iced w coconut milky sauce (sum²) and coco pandan syrup. The pisang skin is missing of pandan smell. It's purely colouring. Coconut milky sauce is lacking of pandan smell too. Maybe good enough amongst Jakartans. I like the satay sauce though the beef is not tender enough. The service is good and quick. ”
“ I am a regular at other Konro Restaurant just 5 shops after this restaurant. But my colleagues wanted to try this place out and we decided to give it a try for lunch. The place has a certain standard of cleanliness, not saying it was very clean, spotless and ventilated but this was a standard for a semi street-food / hawker food joint. The waiters greeted us and just lingered around the restaurant, so it was quite hard to get their attention to order the food. I had to try the Konro Bakar so that i can compare it apple to apple with other restaurants i ate in the past. The meat was juicy and soft, and the portion was huge (refer to the image in this review). The saltiness was exactly how i expected it to be and the peanut sauce had a good thickness to it (not watery). I am giving this place a 7.5/10 overall, BUT for the food it's definitely rated 9/10 for taste. It's a tricky decision if you want to visit this place because the semi-outdoor seating would leave you smelling like smoke while the indoor AC seating is always full. ”
